What is systems psychodynamic informed consultancy and how can it help your organisation?

Systems psychodynamic informed consultancy is quite different from usual organisational interventions.

When we talk about systems we talk about how things are done, how teams are organised and how the actual work gets done, when we talk about the psychodynamics, we are talking about the people, what is going on for them, for their teams and their wider psychology. When we talk about systems psychodynamics, we talk about a marrying of the two.

Sometimes these two are out of alignment which can lead to a dysfunction in the workplace.

Symptoms of such dysfunction typically include reduced outputs or revenues, anxiety within leadership groups and throughout the organisation, poor performing teams (often some not all), increased illness or absence within workgroups or the entire organisation and an overall reduction in positivity throughout an organisation.

This style of consultancy is a proven way of successfully addressing issues, such as those above, through a series of specific techniques which create the space for an organisation to think together and identify what may be going on beneath the surface that is impacting the day to day working of the systems and the groups.

The theory is based on a combined use of systemic, psychodynamic and group behavioural theory.

The principle thing that clients embarking on this work needs to know is that it is a highly successful way of making long term embedded changes that other styles of consultancy cannot always deliver.

Why work with me?

I am an experienced consultant with over 20 years of experience working in organisations. I have sat at board level as an HR and Operations Director in a Top 100 professional services firm and also ran my own HR Consultancy business for 8 years. Prior to this work I also co owned and ran a busy, successful and profitable catering and deli / coffee shop business.

I have been involved in organisational change projects and worked on these at both a structural and strategic level as well from a psychological perspective. I have also coached Leaders and Senior Managers in their roles within a business and on a private level.

By having been both employee and business owner / entrepreneur I bring a unique perspective on understanding all elements of an organisation and its internal and external challenges.

I am qualified through experience but also hold qualifications with the CIPD in HR Practice and Employment Law, a Masters in System Psychodynamic Consultancy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law. I am also accredited by the ACCPH as a Senior Coach through private coaching work. This enables me to offer private coaching to individuals and groups and also to supervise other coaches in their own practice.

My consultancy work is informed by the above experience and qualifications, however I also continue to learn and develop my theoretical knowledge through my deep interest in leadership, organisations and human behaviour.

In addition to my organisational consultancy work, I also run a private coaching practice for individuals and groups.

Although I use proven theoretical frameworks to inform my work, I design each consultancy project from scratch.

I consult on a bespoke basis and will work closely with you to truly understand the issues within and formulate an agreed plan to move forward with a consultancy intervention that will see positive outcomes for you, your organisation and your teams.

Whole Organisation Consultancy

Working together to address challenges within your organisation, a specific team or teams or to improve output and performance.

Prices based on a minimum process of 8-10 session or a 3 month consulting period.

This excludes specific team interventions and 1:1 coaching.

1:1 Coaching for Senior Leaders

1:1 and Group Coaching as a standalone piece of work or in conjunction with a consultancy project

Standalone coaching prices are based on a minimum process of 8 sessions of individual coaching or 3 x group interventions. Please note for groups of more than 5 a second practitioner will be required at an additional cost.

Consultancy for situations where specific teams may be struggling either with performance or group dynamics or may have experienced a crisis which needs processing.
